THE TAIL OF A WORKING DOG: During the late winter of 1998 I was assigned the task of searching and securing large ware house/office complex that had been repeatedly vandalized during the preceding month. To accomplish what need to be done I brought two of my Dobermans with. Panda Von Dynasty and her brother Tutton were perfect for the job. Panda knew how to building search and her brother would follow emulating Panda's work. The two would be a substantial asset should we run into armed intruders.
Late one evening we had just finished our sweep of the warehouse, which turned out to be uneventful, and entered into the office section of the complex. For a chilling moment in time Panda and Tutton froze in place listening. Then they were off at a dead run. We had intruders!
I found Panda and Tutton with their front feet on the reception counter teeth beard staring intently at a totally petrified husband and wife cleaning team who were standing in a lighted area. No one let us know they would be coming to work at 1:30 AM. The two people were so frightened they could not move, which saved them considerable damage. The area behind the dogs was black and all the cleaning people could see was the sudden appearance of two sets of reflective eyes and some very white teeth backed up with a low rumble of a warning.
The fun was over and we let the cleaning people go about their work.
