Sudden death from cardio

Lucus came from a litter of two black dogs, two brown dogs, two brown bitches, one fawn dog and one blue bitch. He was High in Trial (HIT) obedience at the 1994 and 1995 UDC Nationals (198 pts.) He also attained HIT in SchH at the 1995 and 1996 UDC Nationals. He was the highest scoring Dobermann in American history in Schutzhund with 298 points. Lucus had a 100 point track in SchH II and 100 point obedience score for SchH I and II. The 1997 4th quarter Focus was dedicated to Lucus' many achievements and he is features on the cover. Gail suspected something was wrong, when Lucus' work ethic began to decline at age 6. Prostate cancer was suspected and five ultrasounds of his prostate showed normal results. However, further inquiry revealed metastatic cancer in his cervical & lumbar spine and abdomen.
